This role is based in Sydney, Australia.
Responsibilities:
- Coaching, mentoring, and growing a high-performing team of engineers.
- Leading technical strategy and roadmap planning for the Help AI Platform.
- Building scalable backend systems and platform infrastructure.
- Driving experimentation and operational excellence across AI-powered support capabilities.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to expand capabilities.
Requirements:
- Experience leading backend, platform, or AI/ML engineering teams.
- Strong technical depth across backend systems and distributed architectures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Experience with AI platforms or conversational AI is highly regarded.

The AI Help Experience group designs intelligent help experiences that solve problems quickly. The Help AI Platform team builds foundational AI capabilities for contextual help across Canva.
