How these numbers are calculated

Each figure is the median of advertised salary ranges (range midpoint) on US openings at big-tech companies (FAANG and peers), annualized to a yearly USD figure. The sample is every such role open in the last 45 days and still live — refreshed daily, so the numbers track the current market, not a historical survey. Postings without a salary, in other currencies, or with figures outside a sane band are excluded, and a role is only shown once it has at least 10 data points.
