Engineering Manager - Identity & Access (Open To Remote Across ANZ)

This role is based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia with remote work options available.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team designing and implementing authentication and authorization systems.
• Own the strategy for identity and access, balancing security and developer experience.
• Coach and develop engineers through regular feedback.
• Oversee team development methodology including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with partner groups to build scalable systems.
• Drive internal adoption of systems developed by the team.

Required Experience:

• Understanding of authentication and authorization technologies (SAML, OIDC, OAuth).
• Ability to build a strategy balancing usability, security, and compliance.
• Experience with programming languages such as Golang, Python, or Java.
• Knowledge of attribute-based access control systems.

Nice to Haves:

• Understanding of policy-as-code methodologies.
• Experience with infrastructure tools like Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems.
• Knowledge of audit and compliance frameworks.
