This role is based in Melbourne, VIC, Australia.
Responsibilities:
- Manage two small teams of software engineers focused on security.
- Own the strategy and roadmap for both teams, balancing security and developer experience.
- Coach and develop engineers, providing feedback for personal growth.
- Drive adoption of security systems across Canva engineering teams.
Required Experience:
- Experience managing high-performing teams.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with languages like Golang, Java, or Rust.
- Experience in building and operating cloud-based services.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in security domains such as application sandboxing or vulnerability scanning.
- Familiarity with infrastructure tools like Terraform or Kubernetes.
