Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and mentoring a team of Machine Learning Engineers and Research Scientists.
  • Designing and maintaining evaluation infrastructure and quality metrics.
  • Building automated metrics for human aesthetic judgment.
  • Setting technical strategy aligned with Canva's AI goals.
  • Guiding engineering direction for model deployment and production systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading machine learning engineering teams.
  • Expertise in deploying generative models in production.
  • Hands-on experience with ML infrastructure and evaluation pipelines.
  • Strong systems design skills and knowledge of MLOps.
  • Understanding of design principles for measurable signals.
