Staff Software Engineer - Video Templates - (Bay area only)

This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and is focused on designing and evolving Canva's core template engine for video projects.

Compensation:

$251,000 to $329,000 per year

Responsibilities:

• Design and evolve the core template engine and schema for video.
• Build authoring tools and Template Modes for video projects.
• Collaborate on cross-platform rendering for seamless template usage.
• Develop modular video systems encapsulating complex effects and animations.
• Work with Generative AI to create dynamic templates.

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in C++ and familiarity with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Understanding of data structures and complex hierarchies.
• Familiarity with graphics and video concepts.
• Experience collaborating with designers and engineers.
