Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefitsLearn more about benefits at Google.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in the technology industry, including 4 years of experience managing software developers, systems administrators, or systems architects.
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems.
- Experience programming in one of the following: Java, C++, Python or C.
Preferred qualifications:
- 14 years of experience in the technology industry, including 4 years of direct technical management experience of software developers and systems administrators or architects.
- Experience in Mathematics or operations research.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with database internals, database language theories, database design, SQL and database programming.
Responsibilities
- Guide a full-stack team through technical issues towards our mission of scalable and efficient machine and infrastructure planning for Google's data centers.
- Work closely with the brilliant minds in the Operations Decision Support, Operations Research, and Discrete Algorithms teams.
- Learn how Google manages the fleet with speed, agility, and efficiency, and help scale Google’s infrastructure.
- Learn about and interact with many infrastructure software and operational teams within Cloud and TI such as: Colossus, GIG, ODS, Operations Research, and Optimal Fleet.
- Explore Machine Learning options currently, as our solvers are mostly Mixed-Integer Programming-based, we look forward to the grand goal of the entire Google fleet being managed by an all-knowing, all-wise neural network.
