Principal Security Engineer, Threat Detection

This role is based in Sunnyvale, CA or Kirkland, WA.

Compensation:

$307,000-$427,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the strategy for modernizing threat detection and incident response capabilities.
• Lead development of unified security detection platforms and promote automated tools across Google Cloud.
• Integrate AI and machine learning to enhance threat detection and automate responses.
• Provide architectural guidance and resolve complex security escalations.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 15 years of experience in security engineering or software engineering.
• Experience with large-scale cloud-based infrastructure and multiple security domains.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in relevant fields.
• Experience applying AI/ML to security problems.
• Strong understanding of detection system design and architectural patterns.
