This role is based in Waterloo, ON, Canada.

Compensation:

CAD 144,000-148,000/year plus bonus and equity.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Google Voice backend infrastructure components.
  • Support production servers through client release, triage, maintenance, and reliability processes.
  • Develop new features, including AI-driven capabilities for Google Voice users.
  • Improve reliability, performance, and operational efficiency of infrastructure.
  • Create seamless user experiences integrating various workspace products.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in software development or 1 year with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience in server-side programming, Java, and databases.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience managing servers in production.
  • Experience delivering production-quality code for backend infrastructure.
  • Experience in software development for telephony and communication platforms.
