Technical Program Manager, Sovereign Operations
The UK Sovereign Operations (SovOps) team in Google Public Sector delivers, operates and secures private cloud services. We aim to provide the flexibility, reliability, and scalability of public cloud for customers with exceptionally high security requirements that can only be met in a private cloud environment. We deliver and operate these private cloud deployments for the most critical customers, helping scale, secure and maintain the deployment whilst working closely with Google Cloud product teams to continually improve our technology.
You will be part of the team delivering Google Cloud innovations to the UK public sector. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You are equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in technical program management.
- 2 years of experience in technology consulting, or similar in the federal government space.
- Active, or the ability to obtain, a Security Check (SC) UK security clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- PMP certification.
- MBA or Master's degree in a technical (e.g., Engineering) or business (e.g., MBA) field.
- Experience with cloud solutions, including networking, infrastructure, security.
- Demonstrated ability to work across teams, build relationships, influence executive managers and successfully manage multiple complex priorities.
- Excellent communication skills with executive-level stakeholders and team leads.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic, technical, and program management of large, multi-functional projects impacting strategic customers.
- Apply your excellent organizational, analytical, prioritization, communication and influencing skills to manage multiple concurrent complex interactions with geographically disparate teams.
- Cultivate trusted technical and business partnerships across product teams and stakeholders to identify, assess, and resolve recurring challenges.
- Manage risks, issues, and actions for customers, and track them regularly to meet the expected outcomes and timelines.
- Manage program budget and spending and transparent billing and ordering activities.
