Detection & Response Security Engineer, Intern

This internship is based in London, UK.

Responsibilities:

  • Triage security alerts and support incident response in a cross-functional environment.
  • Work on projects to improve capabilities for detecting and responding to security incidents.
  • Analyze attacker techniques through log analysis to identify potential threats.
  • Develop actions and workflows in automation systems to improve alert triage (Python, SQL).
  • Perform TTP-based Threat Modeling for various assets.
  • Track threat clusters posing risks to Meta’s infrastructure and employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience analyzing network and host-based security events.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies, specifically TCP/IP.
  • Coding/scripting experience in one or more general purpose languages.
  • Experience with attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Detection & Response Engineering or similar Security Engineering role.
  • Experience designing systems for responding to external and/or insider threats.
  • Background in security-focused software engineering or offensive security.
