Product Security Engineer, Instagram

This role is remote with multiple locations available.

Compensation:

$184,000/year to $257,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

• Work with product managers on threat models and security architecture for Instagram features.
• Conduct manual design and implementation reviews of web, mobile, and native code.
• Provide guidance to developers to prevent vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with security teams to enhance analysis frameworks.
• Support the bug bounty program and independent security researchers.
• Contribute to industry advancements through talks and open source projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in finding vulnerabilities in interpreted languages (Python, PHP).
• Proven experience in threat modeling and secure systems design.
• Experience with common security vulnerabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in product software engineering or product management.
• Background in security consulting or advisory roles.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity investigations and incident response.
• Contributions to the security community through research, blogging, or presentations.
