Product Manager, API Model Behavior

This position is based in San Francisco, CA, with relocation assistance available.

Compensation:

$325K – $405K/year + Offers Equity

Responsibilities:

  • Define strategic priorities and roadmap for improving model behavior for API users.
  • Collaborate with research and engineering teams to translate goals into model capability improvements.
  • Launch OpenAI’s frontier models in the API.
  • Develop methodologies for evaluating and tuning model behavior.
  • Synthesize user research and feedback into targeted improvements.
  • Establish metrics reflecting model quality and user experience.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of product management or related experience.
  • Experience with high-growth startups.
  • Proven track record of building for developers.
  • Hands-on experience in ambiguous spaces.
  • Strong communication skills across diverse teams.
