Security Engineer, Detection and Response

This role is based in San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, or remote within the US.
Compensation:
$234.4K – $385K + Offers Equity
Responsibilities:
- Build and evolve Detection & Response capabilities across OpenAI’s infrastructure.
- Engineer detection pipelines and tooling.
- Automate response and investigations.
- Partner with other Security teams and system owners.
- Define D&R requirements and drive visibility.
- Evaluate and respond to emergent security concerns.
Requirements:
- Hands-on threat detection and incident response experience.
- Understanding of modern adversary tradecraft.
- Experience in Kubernetes/containerized environments.
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
