Internship, Actuator Mechanical Test Engineer, Optimus (Summer 2026)

This internship position is based in Langley, British Columbia, starting in May 2026 and continuing through the summer term.

Compensation:

$20.00 - $48.00/hour + benefits

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Design Engineers to create validation and qualification test plans.
• Develop, implement, and execute test plans for electromechanical robotic actuators.
• Design and fabricate test fixtures and equipment for testing linear and rotary actuators.
• Perform testing at component, actuator, and system levels.
• Analyze test data and write test reports.
• Investigate root causes of failures and drive actuator design improvements.

Requirements:

• Pursuing a degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and CAD skills (CATIA or Solidworks).
• Programming skills in Matlab/Simulink and/or Python preferred.
• Hands-on testing experience with actuators and components.
