Overview

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) organization is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world’s largest online services.

Within CO+I, the EPC Strategic Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing growth of the Microsoft Cloud and our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill a critical role of Senior Technical Program Manager – Equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of long lead equipment (LLE/OFCI) from demand signal through manufacturing through IFC to handover to site-based procurement teams.
  • Ensure alignment of equipment with technical specs, design standards, and project requirements
  • Act as primary interface between engineering, architectural engineering, engineers of record and internal project controls teams.
  • Manage supplier performance, including schedule adherence to technical documents, technical compliance, and issue resolution
  • Lead or support supplier allocations, confirmed supplier dates and project kick off's
  • Drive schedule tracking and risk management across procurement and delivery timelines
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution across procurement, engineering, construction, planning, and cost
  • Own submittals, technical reviews, and CD&E (changes, deviations, exceptions) process
  • Manage design changes and ensure alignment across all stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve technical, supply chain, and commercial issues; escalate when needed
  • Support sourcing strategy development based on demand, capacity, and market constraints
  • Drive process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve execution consistency
  • Track and report on procurement status, risks, and supplier performance
  • Partner with finance on cost modeling, budgets, and change order management
  • Support contract execution, claims management, and enforcement of supplier obligations
Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
